PD Conversion of B1a office space to two C3 Apartments
Under current Permitted Development rights, the conversion of B1 offices to C3 residential dwellings is permitted subject to certain criteria being met. However, some aspects of a potential conversion scheme must be assessed by the Local Planning Authority to determine whether Prior Approval is required before development can begin.
Our team were instructed to submit a Prior Approval application to Woking Borough Council for the conversion of offices on a local High Street in West Byfleet. As part of the application, we provided a supporting statement which detailed how the conversion would be acceptable in terms of impacts on highways, flooding, contamination and noise generated by nearby commercial premises.
The application was considered by the Council before being duly approved within the standard 8-week timescale.
