2 New Contemporary Cottages

Our client came to us with a piece of land with Outline Planning Permission for 2 new homes in the market town of Ludgershall. The access and the principle of two new dwellings had been approved and we were asked to submit further details of the proposal in a Reserved Matters Application.

CHP quickly realised, however, that the footprints of the proposed new homes approved would only accommodate two small 2-bedroom houses on site and therefore, it was decided that a new Full Planning Application should be submitted instead to maximise the plot’s potential. As such, CHP pulled together plans for two country cottages with a contemporary twist. Our team took advantage of the far reaching, uninterrupted views of the countryside to the rear with large expanses of contemporary glazing in the rear gable. As a result, the proposed new homes not only improved the character of the area, but increased the site’s market value potential.

The Planning Officer praised CHP for this high quality infill development, and with only a single objection to the application, Planning Permission was quickly approved. During the process CHP were even able to negotiate and agree external materials and other details with the Officers so that pre-commencement conditions were avoided. The result is that our clients are now able to start building straight away, with no delay.
